Stone Relief

The marble block ornamented with a fight scene is bounded with a profiled moulding on top. The transversal rectangular surface filled with a rhinoceros chasing after a deer is similar to the block inv. nr. 887 in overall; the difference is that the paws are rendered in lines and the tail curving up terminates in a dragon head. The eye, ears and open mouth are discerned on the damaged dragon head. The neck of the escaping deer stretching forth and the movements of the head and legs reflect its fright.
