The city walls of Yazd are known as some of the best examples of the architecture of the different historical periods of ıran. An outpost before becoming a capital, Yazd held a strategic position, which continued ta increase from the Sasanian period onward. The city especially controlled the roads going ta the Kavir region of lran.
The amir al-Mascüd al-Bihishtı Abu'l- Najm Badr and the amir al-Muzaffar Abu Yacqüb lshaq, both sons of Inal and both Clients of the Commander of the Faithful, ordered the furnishing and installation of it in the year four hundred and thirty-two [11 Sept. 104(). 30 August 1041]. The work of Muhammad b. Abu lshaq, the ironworker of Isfahan.
